Hey Gang,

This really is a simple thing to do. Fixing the Browns isnt a matter of some great magic trick or devine intervention. No, there is a very simple formula that will bring this team back to the power house team we as fans deserve. It's a s simple as this. DRAFT TO WIN. As we watch another failing Browns season unfold, people are just now coming around to the idea that the offensive line might be a problem. Having suffered with this team since the early 70's as a kid, I have figured out enough that in April I had that same feeling as when Biner dropped the ball on the 2 yard line vs. Denver.
It is hard to argue with the picks of Wimbley and Jackson, but beyond that we should have taken O-line. Previous draft picks of Winslow and Edwards seem to have been good, but again, wheres the O-line? People are now after the head of Maurice Carthon for calling bad plays. What plays do you call with a line that cannot run block or pass block? Bernie Kosar in the preseason pointed out the slant seemed to be this teams favorite play. Do you wonder why? Drop 3 steps and get rid of it and maybe our QB will live to throw again.
I understand we lost Bentley due to injury, but one man does not fix this. If I am running the draft next year, it's simple. We need help at corner at that should be addressed. After that, or maybe even before if the right player is available, its all about the offensive line. Until this is addressed, the Browns will suffer.

Kudos, BrownsFanBob!! At least you're not giving up on our team! The offensive line has long needed addressing and hopefully somebody in the Browns Organization is realizing this!
And as a sidenote: Perhaps brownsfan92 should move to Pittsburg and be their rat or at least change his name to browns-hater92!

Every year its the same thing..BLAME the line. Gimme a Break..Getting the ball in the hands of talented players is key. Forget the run. Forget the line. I dont care if you give Frye a month to pass. It AINT gonna happen with him. dont blame the line. THEY DONT THROW PICKS IN THE 4th QUARTER!!

Maybe they don't throw the picks, but they don't stop the pressure either! And they can't seem to open any holes for our running game! So what do you do? Make Charlie try to throw it quicker? He needs more time and the defense needs to think we might run it to keep them back a little and buy Charlie a few seconds. And as far as I can tell those problems are related to the o-line.

chasmcv, how many super bowl champs can you name that had bad o-lines?
Let me help you out here, none. You can however find several teams that won with questionable QB's since you think ours is the problem. Washington won with Doug Williams and Mark Ripen and recently the Ravens won with our boy Trent Dilfer. I agree with Lucky that an O-line that protects Charlie and the real consideration of our running attack will go a long way to make our QB look alot better.
I submit that drafting is the way to go when addressing our line because we really have had no luck with the free agency thing starting with Jim Pine for one reason or another. I think other teams get rid of guys for a reason and we get to discover why when they put on the brown and orange.
In closing, Yes, I do blame the line , and will continue to do so until I see one that is not acting like traffic cops on the snap. When I see consistant 100 yard games from our backs, maybe even a game with only 1 sack ...then I wont blame the line.

I work as a Feild Tech for an IT company based in Columbus. I'm 41 and have never seen a Browns championship in my life. I'm proud to be from Cleveland and make a point of wearing my Browns colors whenever I visit relatives in the Pittsburgh area. The one time I was dragged to a Steelers game in Pittsburgh, I went in orange and brown. The Cavs are a nice distraction and the Indians are nothing more than an annoyance until that special time of year comes around when it's football season again in Cleveland.
