You Kids Keep Your Ball Outta My Yard

Lots of preseason predictions had Detroit and Cleveland fighting it out in the Central Division. Who would have thought that in their first series, they would be fighting for last place. That's one of the things that keeps me interested in MLB. So many variables, so many ups and downs. Keep the faith Tribe fans, brighter days are ahead. (losing 10-1 in the fifth inning? ok, bring on the ups)

Well, I think that the Indians will be all right. Went to see the Bisons yesterday in Pawtucket and both Josh Barfield and Ben Francisco looked ok. Looks like hopefully Franklin Gutierrez is coming out of his hitting slump, and Cliff Lee has been better than CC Sabathia. If Astrubel Cabrera comes out of his hitting slump and CC gets going, then we should be moving up quicker in the standings.

I have lived in Northeastern Ohio all my life and in Kent for the past 20 years. I follow all the Cleveland professional teams, but the Indians are definitely my favorite. On the college level, I root for Kent State(my alma mater), Purdue and Miami of Ohio. I have been retired from teaching since 2004 and my wife, Sue(another KSU grad) and the Shih-Tzu-in-Charge, Wickett, enjoy Ohio from April through December and then go somewhere warm(Florida,Texas,Arizon
a). Note: The picture shows me in my 1948 Indians "World Champs" shirt. It doesn't fit anymore, so I need a new one in 2008.
