I pay my bills, am up to date on my mortgage. My retirement investments went with the stock market. Who is offering me help?

I paid the taxes they are giving away, so why not give me some of it? Who thinks the auto industry in America will disappear? It may have to change, but it will not disappear. Would it hurt to loose bloated prices, salaries, wages, and antiquated work rules? Does anyone really think no one will be building cars in America if the auto industry goes chapter 11?

The railroad industry did it years ago and came back stronger than ever. The automakers got loans of 25 BILLION to retool. Retooling is a standard expense for manufacturing where there is a model change EVERY year. IT’S OUR MONEY!!! We should be getting something for it.

We are giving BILLIONS to banks, who are pocketing the money. What happened to the stated purpose for the money? Should we demand it back if it is not used as intended? What was the hurry? Weeks have passed with no action or backlash, and I didn’t even get kissed, while being …..

I totally agree with you on this. We the taxpayers get screwed out of so much money each paycheck and it really hurts to see that money going to banks and lenders that were so careless with it. You know what, they get what they deserve. I say let them burn. Lessons will be learned (hopefully).

if they were to distribute the money to all citizens 21 and over, and i mean ALL the bailout money , and gave a deadline to spend it all or all left over would be forefit, then the money would go were we need it to go, the housing market, auto market, and retail, whitch in part would help the banks due to debts and such being paid off.

I agree. I have said many times I wanted to ask the candidates one question. "Why does it seem that America rewards bad behavior?"

mropinion, I absolutly agree with you! I've been saying that since the first talk of a bailout. Give the money to the people, we will buy stuff, pay our mortgages and boost the economy.

not a handout, a REFUND our OUR money.....

those of us who actually PAY their bills, like mortgages should all receive from OUR government the "payoff" on our mortgages.

that way, the mortgage co's have money to lend again & the luxury of time to work out the bad mortgages if they are workable.

and US? we all get our homes free & clear of debt. and within a couple of years, MOST of us will be looking to "upgrade" our housing, thus, spurring the housing market once again.

imagine that huh? oh btw HIYA SCHANNEL!

ABSOLUTLY dprin! It is OUR money... what we should be doing is NOT escrowing our taxes into our mortgage payment. This way we can set aside that money, put it in the bank, earn a little interest and pay our own taxes and insurance out of it. Why do people escrow? They are essentially allowing the borrowing of their money to another letting them earn interest on it insted or ourselves.
It's almost Christmas... if we had our money (bailout) we'd be out shopping and buying things therefor that would be part of stimulating the economy.
Our government has their head up their asses. Where was our voice for this bailout... it's our money. If they listened to the people, we could probably figure out a better way. They have no empathy.. are not in our shoes.. we can't spend $10 at Taco Bell but they're probably spending $200 for a lunch.
Sorry, got on a rampage there... I'm back. Miss you dprin!

There is no way to deal in hundreds of billions of dollars and maintain any sense of reality about it. Try to think of what a billion dollars is, and then multiply it by 700.

Asking for help doesn't make one a loser. Expecting something for nothing does.

I now have the time to address some of the errors that have been made over the years. I do not claim to have all the answers, just a lot of questions that need to be asked.
