It angures me as an auto worker. That we can bail out the high paying excutives that screwed up the finance industry. Yet Congress and the Senate put the auto industry on hold for another week. now dont get me wrong. I feel the auto industry put this mess on thier own lap. Big facy bonus,s to people not worth 10,s of millions of dollars, plus thier salary,s. People say us auto workers make to much money. Thats funny because I certainly dont make $20 million dollars a year. Seems if you go to college, you automaticly figure your worth millions. I can tell you this from experiance. Try being a production worker. Try standing in front of a machine for 8 hours, never moving, never talking, never taking a 2 minute breather, then tell me I make to much. The problem with the auto industry isnt just the cars coming from over seas. Its the excutives that make decisions to keep building gaint trucks, SUV,s and vehicles nobody wants nor can afford. My first suggestion to Congress and the Senate is. Yes you do need to help out the auto industry. BUT, on different terms. One. Nobody takes home millions of dollars a year anymore. You think of how many cars need to be sold just to make one mans salary. Two. Management starts carrying thier own weight. We UAW members stamp, load, carry, assemble and produce a product while mangement figures out a way to make us work harder. Its time they start carrying thier own weight. No more one manager per factory. With todays electronics. One person can run 2 3 4 plants from one. You want that $350.000.00 a year, you,ll have to change your ways as we UAW workers have. I will say this. If the Government doesnt help the auto industry? I dont think people realize the impact it will truely have on this country. Your not talking a few thousand people out of work. Your talking millions and millions. Your talking shops building parts, interior shops, wiring shops, tires, steel, plastic, right down to the auto dealers and mechanic,s. Your talking millions and millions of people out of work. The auto industry needs help yes, BUT, the days of millions of dollars in salaires MUST END.
